I woke up and after tossing for a few minutes I got up and out of bed at 1.30am! Yes! How ridiculous is that, but when my body says,” You wake up woman!” I do!
What is even crazier is I do not get tired during the following day, which one would expect would happen!
I had my Quiet Time, did my Bible Study and seeing I was up so early I added another study – the Letter to Titus. I may as well enjoy the hours I am awake!
At nine o’clock I went outside to check the rain gauge, and we had had 2.25mm of rain overnight, and it looked like we would have more rain today. The sky was grey and lumpy with clouds scudding over us promising to send some showers down.
For most of the day there were the odd very light drizzly showers – just enough to wet you if you stood outside for a few minutes!
This morning, I attacked the kitchen area of our home and managed to clean some areas really well. The rest will have to wait for another day – my energy only stretches so far you know! After removing a lot of this and that’s off the counters the kitchen looks so much nicer, cleaner and loved!
I also decided to do some ironing but first I promised myself I could have half an hour timeout! So, I quickly scuttled back up to my studio to do a few more stitches of my baby shawl. The ironing could wait until the afternoon.
Yes! I did all the ironing so am feeling positively angelic again. It never lasts for long, but I enjoy it while it does!
Tonight, I do not have to worry about making food as we have a lot of the butter chicken leftover, so I will just make mashed potatoes and veggies. Last night I served it with savory rice and buttered bread, so a little change will be in order.
This afternoon I woke up to the fact that today is Wednesday and there I had been thinking it was only Tuesday! Tsch! Somewhere along the way I had lost a day! I think it is all these crazy wake ups in the wee hours of the early mornings that caused that. – or maybe old age!
Today quietly bowed out when the night stomped across the skies leaving her inky boot marks over the grey and lumpy cloud formations. It was time to go to ed and sleep.
I did.
What lesson did I learn today? Slow and steady wins the race.
What am grateful for today? No heavy downpours of rain.
My saying for today is …
