Blog for Wednesday 26th March 2025

Last night, although I went to be nice and early because I was so tired, but I just could not go to sleep. I tried counting every sheep on the planet, tossed and turned, but was determined to get my body to relax even if my mind was still whirling around. I lay there for over three hours, but in the end gave up. I got up and went up to my studio to upload my blog for yesterday, do an extra early Quiet Time and Bible Study, and then after being up for almost three hours, I crawled back into bed, still unable to fall  asleep immediately.

So, when I got up this morning, I had had less than three hours sleep. But somehow, I managed on that easily. I just do not let myself think that I am or even could possibly be tired!

Last night Ken’s i-phone went on the blink which caused Ken great concern, so after our Bible Study Group had met this morning, we headed into Port Macquarie to have that problem sorted out chop-chop.

Ken dropped me at Settlement City for me to have my hair trimmed while he had his phone sorted out. Luckily, the chap there at the phone repair place said he found absolutely nothing wrong with the phone and did not charge Ken a cent! Nice when you come across someone so honest. He could have charged Ken whatever he wanted and Ken would have gladly paid to get his phone back in working order!

From the shopping centre we went to Aldis so could stock up on food in case we get rained in this coming week. Hopefully not, but I like to be prepared anyway as this is the month for flooding if we are going to have floods. Now and again in September too. It is a nice change from droughts which are so hard to get through.

Raafie was beside himself with undiluted joy when we got back home this afternoon. I think it was because it was the very first time he was left at home totally alone. Normally Shamara is with him and they both mutter about being left behind together while we were out. Today Raafie had to mutter on his own.

We had our Bible Study Group in Wauchope today as Sandra and Noel had family visiting, and Julie and Lyn were away, plus poor Marg was not feeling well, so it was only the three men and mwah present. It was really good morning, and we finished our study on Jude. Ian suggested that I repeat today’s study for those not here today next week when we meet. So, I may do that. Our next book or rather letter/epistle we are going to study the Letter to Titus. Interesting as these are books not often preached on, so I am loving digging deeply into them.

Today has been another rather cool and overcast day with spits and spots of drizzly rain here and there, but nothing to talk about here on the farm. Again, thankfully as the ground is still very wet and the river still not down completely, so we are still having to cross the river using the tractor.

Oops! So much for no rain, we had a very brief shower and received 7.5mm suddenly!

Tonight, I think I will make us chicken, cheese and mayo’ toasties with a salad on the side. I am going to try toasting gluten free bread for Ken to see if that will prevent his reflux later.  There are nights when a toastie is all we feel like, but because Ken’s suffers later, I do not make them often at all. Hopefully this gluten free bread works for him.

I am looking forward to another day at school with the children tomorrow and have my lessons and the games and worksheets all ready to go. Such a nice feeling.

What lesson did I learn today? To enjoy the day.

What am I grateful for today? A hair cut!

My saying for today is ….

“Perhaps wisdom…is realizing how small I am, and unwise, and how far I have yet to go.”
