Blog for Tuesday10th December 2024

(Sent to me by a friend who knows what being a housewife is like!)

I had a wonderful night’s sleep so woke up feeling a lot more human than I have been feeling  of late!

An excellent way to start my day!

I fed Shamara but did not have any coffee as I am still watching what I eat or drink as I am still inclined to feel queasy.

I quickly covered my chocolate cake with whipped cream and peaches and put it on a glass stand with a glass cover. I also arranged the cold meats on a stainless steel really large platter – roast beef slices, slices of honey ham, corned beef slices and I chopped up a roast chicken too. I also took a large box of Christmas crackers -That was our contribution for our Bible Study Group Christmas lunch today.

The cake I baked for Keith – one of our Bible Study Group guys, I did not realize that it was for his seventieth, but it was good to have done that for his special birthday.

Our Bible Study Group is and always will be a place of discussion, learning, support and is sugared with  lots of love and laughter. I love this group of people.

Today we had such a nice celebration and there was just loads and loads of food to be devoured!

I could have kicked myself (and hard!) this morning, because I had asked Sandra to pick up my Sunday School lesson for this coming Sunday, as I was not at church this last Sunday due to my pumpkin seed saga. Sandra kindly did that for me, and I forgot to get it from her today at our Bible Study Group!  Silly me!

I will have to swing passed their home on my way to school tomorrow then. I have the Year 6’s Presentation Evening to attend then.

Once home, Ken went up to see what our friend Peter had been working on up in Tamryn’s container, and I began to tidy the kitchen area which was still absolute chaos!

When Ken got ack he headed off to have his siesta and I lay down on the couch with the air con’ on and read my book. I must have dosed off too for a few minutes and felt better for having done so.

Once awake I began to clean the kitchen, but in this heat, one has to fight to find the motivation to do anything much!

I cannot remember whether I mentioned this in my blog yesterday, but the Men’s Morning here on the farm – which was meant to be this Saturday, has been cancelled due to heat and possibly drenching rain. We will re-schedule again early in the new year. David, who is in charge of these Men’s meetings, decided that it was best to cancel it early and not wait for the last second, which was wise. Thankfully that gives me a little more time to do the things I need to do too.

Marg and Ian gave us an unusual cordial that I am looking forward to tasting – Elderberry – and a handmade phone cover  - as a Christmas gift this morning, which was very kind of them both.

Ah yes! That is what I wanted to do, to show you photos of our Bible Study Group.

Marg and Ian
Keith and Julie
Sandra and Noel with Lyn behind
Ken and mwah!

What lesson did I learn today? The incredible value of true friendship.

What am  I grateful for today? A Christmas celebration with friends.

My saying for today is …
