“The things that make me different are the things that make me.”
– Piglet, Winnie-The-Pooh
Well, we only got some of the rain (we got 3mm, and I think the weathermen predicted 3 - 15mm) we were meant to get yesterday overnight, so maybe we will not be flooded in if this continues! But the forecasts are still looking pretty soggy, so I will wait and see what happens.
I woke up at just after midnight, but for what reason, I have no idea! Then I could not get back to sleep, so at twenty to two I got up and decided that my day could begin then, which it did.
Shamara was delighted!
I fed her and went up to my studio to have my Quiet Time, upload my blog, do my Bible Study and choose a Proverb for the day. I stayed up in my studio and did not go back to bed as I was far too wide awake. I will probably wilt this afternoon though!
Well, I only got back home at four o’clock so no time to be sleeping!
I so enjoyed my time in Wauchope today. I drove in, in a sedately manner as there was absolutely no need for rush and racing. Once I was in town I went around to “Circle of Friends” to buy a gift - (actually a whole lot of little thing-a-lingies) for her birthday next Saturday. Oh, how I love toddling around in that shop, seeing what is new and dreaming as I gawp at the incredible amount of stock. Whoever does the displays is very good at their job!
From there I drove up to the library and parked at the back. On getting out of my car I noticed a couple of guys busy with an air conditioner. I asked the one young guy if that was the air con’ for the Senior Citizens Hall, and he said it was. I could have kissed the kid, as I know there are several people in our congregation that suffer badly in the heat and they will be delighted to have the air con’ working again.
I walked around the library noting the various changes that have been made since I was last in there, all very nicely and tastefully done.
Hester, my friend who was launching her book at the Wauchope library this morning, was given a side room with a fair amount of seating and Fiona (the librarian) was a great help setting things up with Hester.
Hester spoke very well, and she also managed to sell several of her books, which was a bnus. I also got to see other friends of mine who attended the book launch too - Sylvia; Jennifer; Liz; Kerry and Lindie.
After Hester’s talk the library put on tea and coffees with some muffins, biscuits et cetera for the attendees. It was such a pleasant morning and something out of the normal for me, and as they say, “a change is as good as a holiday”!
Once we had Hester’s paraphernalia packed into her car the two of us (Lindie had another meeting in Port Macquarie or Kempsey to go to) walked across the road to “Watermans” which was unkindly closed! So, we strolled further down and found a little café, “Vibe”, where we could sit in the shade outside, chomp, sip and chat.
We both had a small, soft taco filled with sweet chilli chicken, and Hester had a milkshake, and I had a banana smoothie. Very delicious!

My Banana Smoothie - delish!
Hester, my friend, the authoress of three books and another two in the pipeline!

Sorry I took this photo slap into the sun, so no wonder Hester is in the dark. I will try to get some photos from Lindie who took a whole lot during Hester’s talk this morning.
Once I had seen Hester to her car and we had said our fond farewells, I walked to my car, drove to the rural store to get cracked corn for the guinea fowl keets, then on to the IGA to pick up some groceries as we could possibly be stuck on the farm for a while if we get all this rain they are predicting coming our way.
On getting almost to our farm, I had to wait for Ken to fetch me from the other side of the river as he had to load one of our bulls who was off to the sale yards. and then fetch me.
Once home, we unloaded all the things, then Ken made us a coffee each and he went off to have a late siesta and I came up to my studio to write my blog and do some more of my Bible study notes in case we can get across the river tomorrow. But it is looking less and less likely that we will be getting off the farm in the morning.
I crawled into bed as soon as I could listening to the rain beating some unknown but dance worthy tune on our tin roof as I slid into the land of Nod.
I really enjoyed today!
What lesson did I learn today? To enjoy the time spent with friends.
What am I grateful for today? All my friends everywhere!
My saying for today is …
