Blog for Tuesday 15th April 2025

I slept well again last night, and I love the fact that Raafie stays with me the whole night – not moving off the bed once!

In fact, even when I sit up in bed in the wee hours to have my Quiet Time, he remains snuggled under the duvet not moving a muscle. He is used to staying in bed with Ken until much later, so this is really messing with Raafie’s normal timetable!

Raafie will be delighted to have Ken back home again!

Yahee!  At least today, although I am still not feeling on top of my game, I am feeling a whole lot better. I am feeling almost human again which is a major plus!

Unfortunately for me, my mouth is still so very sore, but … that too shall pass.

Today I will have to use my tumble drier as I have all those loads of washing done yesterday, as today is heavily overcast with the odd showers passing over. Rats! But hey, I am blessed in that I HAVE a tumble drier, not so? Zip it, Gail Morgan!

Today I did as little housework as I could, tidied the kitchen, which was not really untidy, then our bedroom but I steadfastly avoided the main area in the shed.

I fed the guinea fowl and the chooks early in the morning and gave them some greens too. I feel a bit like the Pied Piper at the feed time because the birds espy me as I step out of the shed and there is a great gathering of all bodies that are feathered and they toddle, waddle or fly after me!

And in the evenings, I feed the dogs. I notice that I do not have to call them at all. They hear me open the roller shutter door and suddenly I am loved by four hairy canines who wolf their food down at record speeds! Ken is going to have to up his presentation of their food when he gets home as they are loving this spoiling I am giving them!

I got all the wet washing tumble dried today, so I will have a mound of ironing to do tomorrow.

Today was a seriously grey sort of day with misty rain enveloping the farm off and on, just enough to keep it wet and it was nippy too. I brought my little heater down from my studio and Raafie appreciated it as he slept for most of the day here at my feet on one of his fluffy beds.

Raafie - one tired but warm hairy hound!

In the afternoon I listened to some of my audio book and did a few stitches of my baby shawl crochet.

Again tonight, Raafie and I crawled into bed very early and we both were soon fast asleep.

What lesson did I learn today? More patience.

What am I grateful for today? That my tummy bug seems to have gone.

My saying for today is …
