I got out of bed at ten past four this morning having lain there for a little bit cuddling Raafie before my feet hit the floor and my day began.
I fed my feline, made my coffee and went up to my studio to have my Quiet Time. Today I began and finished the Book of Obadiah – the shortest book in the Old Testament and found it fascinating. Reading the Bible chronologically over two years gives one time to really enjoy each book, and so far, I am now over halfway through this course. Whoo-hoo!
This morning, I mopped the large area in the main shed and then asked my “little friend” BL (for Busy Lizzie) robot mop/vacuum to continue her good work. It will still take several more mopping times before the concrete powder disappears completely – it is still everywhere.
I put on a load of washing and did a quick general tidy up in our home before attending all the papers, letters, or notices on my desk. I see I have another conference online next week for MLA (Meat and Livestock Australia) which I must attend, I will tie a knot in my neck, so I do not forget! Yes! At my age one has to do some drastic things in order not to forget things, people or appointments!
Ken kindly took me across the river on the tractor to my little car and I headed off to school this afternoon.
It was great to see the teachers and children again as I felt as if I had been away for forever and a day. The children were happy for me to be back too which always encourages and inspires me.
The one little guy presented me with four little tomatoes as a “Welcome back!” – three cherry tomatoes and one pear shaped one – very cute. I am not sure that they are his to really dole out, (having been plucked from the school’s veggie patch), but I was really touched by his kind gesture. And at the end of the lesson, he told me to enjoy my tomatoes with a grin that would have split his face if he had not had ears to hold it together!!
Another little chap was terribly concerned as he was sure I would not be able to get off the farm again today, but he was so happy I was at school.
I always come away from school feeling very loved.

I was happy for Ken too as he found those bolt flange things that he thought he had dropped in the long grass yesterday, and which had the two of us rear ends up, scratching through the grass. Ken even slashed the area in an attempt to find the wretched things, but… all is well, they were with the bolts all along!
Ken and I do provide one another with lots of material to make us smile! No need for comedy shows here! We are the act!
When I got back home – again Ken had to fetch me across the river on the tractor – he went off to have his siesta, and I went up to my studio to plan the next lessons at school and also, I am teaching at Kids Church on Sunday so went over that lesson too.
In the late afternoon I sorted the fridges out as they were getting rather untidy again. I seem to have a natural ability to make that happen … often!
Well, tonight Ken and I can finish off the last of the chicken dish, rice, butternut and peas and tomorrow I can create something nice. Depending on the weather – if it is hot I am thinking of making individual servings of a chicken Caesar salad – the one I used to make in our Coffee Shop and which was always in great demand. I have all the ingredients needed bar the Parmesan cheese shavings, but I have a block of Parmesan and can grate some finely instead. I will wait until tomorrow arrives before deciding what I will make.
I have started a new audio book, “Beautiful Ugly” (the title caught my eye), by Alice Feeney and maybe I will find some time – or rather make some time - to do some crocheting and sit outside over the weekend and listen to it.
Well, that did not happen! I will try again tomorrow.
What lesson did I learn today? I need to make time to do the things I love doing.
What am I grateful for today? A day at school with the children again.
My saying for today is …
