Blog for Sunday16th March 2025

I went to sleep far to late for me, hence I woke up late this morning! The reason for my going to bed late is because I began to watch on Prime Video, “House of David” - I just watched one episode but began to watch it late in the evening. So far, I am enjoying it - it sticks to the Bible fairly accurately but adds in some stuff that is not biblical. I find it fascinating to check the biblical story against this video narrative.  But it is so nice to watch a series that is not made up entirely of smut, swearing or violence.

When I got up this morning I was met by a cheesed off cat - she does NOT appreciate it when I wake up later than four o’clock! Any delay in her food time is not looked upon with favor!

Then I decided to do the ironing of all the washing that I did yesterday as we would not be going to church until Ken can gauge how badly our river crossing has been damaged in this flood.

I am hoping we manage to get off the farm tomorrow or maybe Tuesday, as I really need my snapped off tooth sorted out, plus our cupboards need replenishing too before I become old Mother Hubbard!

I managed to go through several containers this morning and got rid of a lot of stuff, so now I have two empty containers to use. I will use them for the bedlinen I have piled high on a chair at the moment.

I had a shower at about lunch time as I knew I would be getting hot and sweaty while sorting through those containers, so I waited to have my ablutions a little later than normal.

In the afternoon I sent an email to the lady in the USA who did the editing of my book several years ago as I had lost touch with her. She is and was an extremely busy lady, and I did not want to worry her or interrupt her work, but today I wanted to get in touch with her again as we got on so well. I am hoping that she is still around and that we can strike up our friendship again.

In the late afternoon I decided that I needed to slow down - after all it was a Sunday, so, I sat on the one couch in my studio and while listening to the end of my audio book I sewed up another little baby jersey. I really enjoyed the book written by Jojo Moyes and have downloaded another of her books - this time ”Someone Else’s Shoes.” I loved her books “Me Before You” and “After You”.

Unfortunately, our grass grows longer each day, and I have no idea when we will be able to cut it as the battery is flat and Ken needs to fix something on it before it will work again. I can almost hear the reptiles giggly with glee. Ah, the wretched wrigglers!

Again, in the early evening I sat outside enjoying the end of today. Ken went off to check cattle, move the rubbish, feed the chooks and guinea fowl, and do a ride around the farm with all four dogs delighted to be out and about following him everywhere.

What lesson did I learn today? Just to get on with it.

What am I grateful for today? Another day of pure sunshine.

My saying for today is …
