Blog for Sunday 6th April 2025

Daylight Savings changed this morning again!

Well, I was up bright and early this morning as I got up at twenty to three (according to yesterday’s time) but (now with the daylight time changing), was only twenty to four today!

The result was that I was able to have a very long Quiet Time and Bible Study time.

Ken had said last night after looking at our river crossing again, that we would not be going to church today.

Ken checked our river crossing late and he got across on the tractor but it is still far too deep for us to cross in the ute!

Today I began with my little BL (Busy Lizzie) robot vacuum/mop working hard again mopping the floor out in the main shed area.

I tried to tidy the mess out there too – I moved the single beds up against the wall, I washed and cleaned a large suitcase and then washed and cleaned the carpet/mat cleaner. I think that will help me try and get the concrete powder off the floors in the main shed area – which is pretty impossible to do. But I think between the carpet cleaner the Busy Lizzie I will eventually win that battle.

I also vacuumed over and over my old cream armchair which I am hoping to recover, or find a stretch cover for it as I really love this old chair. I owuld like to use it in our bedroom when it has been spruced up.

After Ken had checked the river level, he went out to slash the area he had not quite finished along the road towards the Pteridium Camp the other day when he was out there.

When Ken got back, he asked me to come and read my book and try to have a snooze with him, and I really did try. I listened to two chapters of my book but was just no where near wanting to sleep, so I got up as he was fast asleep anyway.

Instead of sleeping I did all the ironing as you do!

But I do love that feeling when I have finished ironing the last item and it is all looking neat and ready to be put away. A small goal achieved but it brings me such a feeling of having done well!

Tomorrow Ken has an appointment in Port Macquarie so he will have to cross the river on the tractor again, and hopefully no rain falls inland from us overnight, as that causes the river to rise rapidly.

It’s time to get off the farm now I reckon!

What lesson did I learn today? More patience. (I am sure I should my honors in patience by now!)

What am I grateful for today? A quiet Sunday at home.

My saying for today is …
