My goodness, gracious, golly gee! What is happening I ask you with tears in my eyes? I only got out of bed this morning at half past six!
It is my age I tell you, ‘tis catching up with me!
But I am thinking maybe I was just tired and that is alright every now and again!
I had my Quiet Time and did some more notes on the Letter to Titus – which I am so
enjoying before going downstairs and did some serious housework for a change!
Oh, how beautiful – there was sunshine spilling over everything, so hopefully we will be able to get off the farm soon. Ken checked again late yesterday but said that the river was still far too high for us to cross it even on the tractor!
Well, it is what you make of it, not so?
First, after getting myself dressed and ready for the day, I carted all the soggy but clean washing out and hung it up on the washing line where I could hear the lovely slap-flap of it drying. But … that means lot of ironing tomorrow! But coincidently, tomorrow I get my new audio book so can listen while I iron! How good is that!
I dusted and wiped down the surfaces in our living area, wiped and then put applied the leather cream to two of the armchairs, dusted and wiped the top of the two fridges there, and cleaned well behind the sideboard – always a bit of a huff and puff involved in doing that! I also cleaned out the two fridges.
After that I defrosted a packet of sausages that I will cook for supper tonight – served with poached or fried eggs and hot chips.
I swept and mopped floors and generally just worked up a sweat and got things looking a lot better, which does my heart good.
At almost three o’clock I decided that I could slow down and went up to my studio to begin this blog and listen to some podcasts as I swept, mopped and tidied up there too.
Yes, yes I was meant to take a break but when I saw what had to be done then I just had to do it, as there is only me to do it! Done and happiness reigns!
In the late afternoon I had a look at the next study in Titus but did not take any notes, I just listened to the talk on it.
Then I went out to bring all the dry washing in. My goodness what a glorious day it has been today. Sunshine! Sunshine! Sunshine!
At about four o’clock I vacuumed the windowsills and skirting boards. Then I got the things ready for me to start our supper a little later.
Ken has an appointment on Monday in Port Macquarie with Hearing Australia for them to check his new hearing aids and correct anything he is not happy with. So, I think I will stay home and get him to take all the things to Lifeline for me, as I will go in with him the next day for his appointment with the specialist concerning his hip.
In fact, this coming week we seem to be in town almost every day! Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday to be exact! Heaven help us!
What lesson did I learn today? To take joy in the most mundane of tasks – like sweeping – dusting, cleaning blah-blah fish paste! I mean really, I am almost eighty and can do so many things that still! What a blessing!
What am I grateful for today? The sunshine!
My saying for today is …
